Central US
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wet corn gluten feed | $37/ton | $35-$40/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Corn gluten feed | $145/ton | $135-$165/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |

| Choice white grease | 49.8¢/lb | 49.8¢/lb | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
The Central US listing is the national reference on the feedstuffs board rather than a single trade point, which makes it the line to read a regional quote against rather than a market anyone ships from.
Iowa
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wet distillers grains (WDGS) | $56/ton | – | Unspecified basis | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Soybean hulls | $168/ton | $140-$190/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $175/ton | $145-$195/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Soybean meal | $344/ton | $334-$359/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
Iowa sits at the center of both corn production and dry-grind ethanol capacity, so a distillers quote here is a plant-gate price with short freight to the buyer, and it usually sets the floor other regions are read against.
Illinois
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wet distillers grains (WDGS) | $60/ton | – | Unspecified basis | Oct 13, 2025 |
| Hominy feed | $123/ton | $120-$125/ton | FOB plant | Sep 14, 2026 |
| Soybean hulls | $153/ton | $125-$190/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $195/ton | $185-$205/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Soybean meal | $352/ton | $339-$369/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
Illinois combines heavy corn processing with river access, so its board carries both dry-grind ethanol co-products and wet-milling streams, and barge freight on the Illinois and Mississippi rivers is part of what moves a delivered quote here.
Indiana-Ohio
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Soybean hulls | $146/ton | $130-$155/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $185/ton | $168-$200/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Soybean meal | $367/ton | $359-$369/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
Indiana and Ohio sit at the eastern edge of the Corn Belt, closer to the eastern dairy and poultry demand centers than to the western plants, which is why quotes here often carry a delivered basis.
Eastern Corn Belt
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meat and bone meal | $375/ton | $375/ton | FOB plant | Oct 27, 2025 |
| Blood meal | $1,000/ton | $1,000/ton | FOB plant | Nov 10, 2025 |
Last quoted Nov 10, 2025; this region has not updated since. The Eastern Corn Belt is where Midwest supply meets eastern demand, so this board tends to read above the plants further west by roughly what the haul costs.
Minnesota
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wet distillers grains (WDGS) | $56/ton | – | Unspecified basis | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Wheat middlings | $124/ton | $118-$135/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $175/ton | $170-$180/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Soybean hulls | $230/ton | $160-$300/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Soybean meal | $316/ton | $304-$339/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Meat and bone meal | $409/ton | $370-$450/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Feather meal | $470/ton | $375-$545/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Blood meal | $1,375/ton | $1,100-$1,500/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Yellow grease | 46.8¢/lb | 42.0-52.0¢/lb | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Choice white grease | 56.8¢/lb | 52.0-61.0¢/lb | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
Minnesota carries both ethanol co-products and a large dairy load of its own, so local demand competes with the freight-out market for the same tons.
Minnesota-Dakotas (Min-Dak)
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sunflower meal | $160/ton | $140-$180/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Linseed meal | $250/ton | $250/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Canola meal | $263/ton | $234-$284/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
The Minneapolis and Dakotas listing covers the northern Plains, where oilseed processing sits alongside ethanol and where distance from the eastern and southern demand centers puts real freight into any delivered price.
Nebraska
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wet distillers grains (WDGS) | $65/ton | – | Unspecified basis | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $203/ton | $180-$220/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Alfalfa pellets | $375/ton | $330-$420/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
Nebraska pairs ethanol capacity with the largest concentrated cattle-feeding demand on the board, so co-products often move a short distance from plant to feedlot and the local bid can hold firm even when the national market softens.
South Dakota
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wet distillers grains (WDGS) | $61/ton | – | Unspecified basis | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $180/ton | $170-$190/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
South Dakota is plant-dense and demand-light relative to its production, so this is a freight-out market and its quotes tend to sit at the low end of the board.
Kansas
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wet distillers grains (WDGS) | $71/ton | – | Unspecified basis | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Wheat middlings | $197/ton | $190-$200/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $220/ton | $220/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Alfalfa pellets | $300/ton | $285-$315/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
Kansas pairs ethanol and milling capacity with cattle feeding, and it is a wheat-milling state, so wheat co-products show up on this board alongside the corn stream.
Kansas City region
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wheat middlings | $154/ton | $120-$185/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Corn gluten feed | $250/ton | $229-$270/ton | Delivered | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Soybean hulls | $275/ton | $275/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Soybean meal | $359/ton | $339-$379/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Cottonseed meal | $380/ton | $375-$385/ton | Delivered | Aug 24, 2026 |
| Alfalfa meal | $435/ton | $390-$480/ton | Delivered | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Feather meal | $535/ton | $520-$550/ton | Delivered | Oct 26, 2026 |
Kansas City is a rail and terminal market rather than a production point, so its quotes tend to reflect assembled freight economics more than any single plant's gate price.
Wisconsin
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wet distillers grains (WDGS) | $54/ton | – | Unspecified basis | Sep 22, 2025 |
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $174/ton | $173-$175/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
Wisconsin is a dairy-demand market first, so the board here reads as what it costs to bring feed in rather than what it costs to ship it out.
Michigan
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $188/ton | $175-$200/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
Michigan is a net feed importer with dairy and livestock demand set back from the main production belt, so delivered quotes carry the haul.
Missouri
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wet distillers grains (WDGS) | $61/ton | – | Unspecified basis | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $210/ton | $205-$215/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
Missouri sits on the river system with both processing and livestock demand, so its board mixes plant-gate and delivered quotes.
California
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Corn gluten feed | $260/ton | $260/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Distillers dried grains (DDGS) | $270/ton | $270/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Blood meal | $1,750/ton | $1,750/ton | Delivered | Oct 26, 2026 |
California is the largest single feed-demand market in the country and produces very little of what it feeds, so almost everything on this board arrived by rail or truck from the Midwest and the price carries that haul.
California (San Joaquin Valley)
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Almond hulls | $130/ton | $100-$145/ton | Delivered | Oct 26, 2026 |

| Cottonseed meal | $323/ton | $300-$345/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Canola meal | $360/ton | $360/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Whole cottonseed | $463/ton | $450-$470/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Cottonseed hulls | $550/ton | $550/ton | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
| Yellow grease | 56.3¢/lb | 49.5-67.0¢/lb | Delivered | Oct 26, 2026 |
The San Joaquin Valley holds the densest dairy concentration in the United States and no local supply of corn co-products, so this is the clearest delivered-basis market on the board and freight is the largest single variable in it.
Pacific Northwest
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wheat millrun | $185/ton | $185/ton | Delivered | Oct 26, 2026 |

| Soybean meal | $412/ton | $404-$419/ton | Delivered | Oct 26, 2026 |
The Pacific Northwest pairs dairy demand with export capacity at the Columbia River and Puget Sound ports, so this board can answer to an export bid as well as to a domestic one.

The Sacramento Valley mixes dairy and specialty-crop agriculture, and like the rest of California it imports nearly all of its concentrate feed.
California (South)
| Ingredient | Price | Range | Basis | Week of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Almond hulls | $139/ton | $85-$160/ton | Delivered | Oct 26, 2026 |

| Yellow grease | 52.5¢/lb | 51.5-53.5¢/lb | FOB plant | Oct 26, 2026 |
Southern California is a demand market at the far end of every freight lane, which is why its quotes tend to sit at the top of the board.

How to read regional feed prices
The tables above list every feedstuff USDA quotes in each trade region, cheapest first, with its published range, its basis and the week of its latest quote. Compare an ingredient's cost per unit of protein or energy on the leaderboard before reading across regions: the cheapest board price is not the cheapest fed price.
FOB plant and delivered. An FOB-plant quote is the feed loaded at the plant with the haul still to pay; a delivered quote has the freight to a named market inside it. Two rows on the same table are not directly comparable until the freight is accounted for, which FOB plant vs delivered walks through.
Why a regional price differs from the national one. A feed ingredient's price at any point is the plant price where it was made plus the cost of getting it to where it is used, so the gap between two regions is mostly a freight story. Regions with processing capacity inside them tend to quote below the national reference because the ton has not traveled; regions that consume more than they produce quote above it by roughly the haul. That difference is the basis, and it widens when trucks tighten, when fuel runs up, or when a local demand source outbids the freight-out market for the same tons. It moves for reasons that have nothing to do with the ingredient itself, which is why a regional quote can rise in a week when the national board is flat.
Common questions
Which region has the cheapest DDGS right now?
Wisconsin, at $174/ton FOB the plant as of Oct 26, 2026. The highest DDGS quote is Pacific Northwest at $283/ton delivered. Part of that gap is basis: a delivered quote carries freight an FOB-plant quote leaves out. DDGS price has the national median and every region's DDGS quote.
Which regions does USDA quote the most feedstuffs in?
Minnesota (10 feedstuffs), California's San Joaquin Valley (9) and Kansas City region (7) carry the deepest boards in the latest report week. Which ingredients appear in a region changes as trades are confirmed, so a feedstuff missing one week is usually a thin market rather than a gap in the reporting.
Why are feed prices different from one region to the next?
Freight, mostly. A feed ingredient costs the plant price plus the cost of moving it to where it is fed, so a region with processing inside it quotes below the national reference and a region that consumes more than it produces quotes above it by roughly the haul. That gap is the basis, and it moves on trucking capacity, fuel and local demand rather than on anything about the ingredient.
Does the cheapest price on this page mean the cheapest feed?
No, for two reasons. The rows are not all on the same basis, so an FOB plant price and a delivered price are different numbers before freight is settled. And a price per ton says nothing about what the ton delivers: the comparison that matters is cost per unit of protein or energy, which is what the nutrient-cost leaderboard computes across the whole feedstuffs menu.
